Omisalj is situated on the north side of island Krk. Arriving on Krk by land, this is the first town on the island which is on guest road to holiday. Omisalj is with town Krk oldest settlement on the island, it is situated on the cliff 90 m. above the sea. Position on a high cliff overlooking the sea and local harbor. Boaters are recognized Omisalj as a great place for tying boats. In the past, city has been inhabited since ancient times. The Romans founded a large town called Fulfinum. Omisalj was of great strategic importance and during the fifteenth century it was fortified, old Tower still stands. There are many churches in the city, most famous are: Benedictine Abbey of Saint Nicholas and the Parish Church. North of the town is situated Park Dubec. Park has about 1 kilometer long paths.
